Kalyani Mohan Ahire, daughter of a Dhuni-Bhandi woman in Sangamner, has cleared the Maharashtra Public Service Commission exam and became a forest officer directly. Kalyani’s success is being appreciated from all quarters. Sangeeta Mohan Ahire lives in a small house with her two children, Kalyani and Navnath, in Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, an area of very poor people in Sangamner city. Both children were gifted from childhood. Both of these children completed their education in music by playing dhuni pots at other’s houses. At the same time, considering the condition of her mother, Kalyani became stubborn. And she studied Civil Engineering in Amruthavahini Engineering College.
While Kalyani Ahire was studying civil engineering, Kalyani of Sangamner started preparing for MPSC by seeing the government cars of officials coming to the college, thinking that if she too took the Maharashtra Public Service Commission exam, she would surely become an administrative officer. She succeeded in her first attempt and directly reached the post of Assistant Engineer Grade 1.
Meanwhile, there was constant poverty at home, with her mother working as a dishwasher and not being able to afford to live and study in a big city like Pune, Mumbai. . As soon as the result of this exam is announced, her mother and her brother are overjoyed.
