The birthday of Pimpri-Chinchwad NCP senior leader and former MLA Vilas Lande was celebrated with various social activities. Blood donation camp, distribution of goods to the needy, food donation program was held at Panjarpol.
Yakami was spearheaded by Vikrant Lande, son of former councilor and Lande, and Viraj Lande, a businessman from Putane. Former MLA Lande has great strength in Bhosari assembly constituency.
Political experts had predicted that Lande would show strength in the run-up to the forthcoming municipal elections. However, Lande was said to be out of town. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Pune District Ajit Pawar visited Pimpri-Chinchwad. Vilas Lande was absent from the tour.
Talwade: In the election held in Rupinagar ward in 2017, 4 councilors of NCP were elected. Among them, Pankaj Bhalekar took the initiative and organized a program on the occasion of Lande’s birthday. It was informed that social activist Sanjay Udawant from Indrayani Nagar ward has also taken initiative.

Mahila NCP’s city president Pvt. Kavita Alhat celebrated the birthday of former MLA Vilas Lande as a day of celebration. On the occasion of the birthday of State Women’s Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar and Lande, a program ‘Khel Rangala Paithanicha New Home Minister’ was jointly organized. On the backdrop of the forthcoming municipal elections, an atmosphere was created in Moshi on this occasion.
Forget city president Ajit Gawhane and city NCP?
Former MLA Vilas Lande is known as ‘Sharad Pawar’ in the politics of the city. The city NCP had an opportunity to create a challenge to the BJP by staging a show of strength on the occasion of Lande’s birthday in the run up to the municipal elections. However, the mayor Ajit Gawhane came into politics by holding his finger. Surprisingly, he was not able to take any constructive program for Vilas Lande’s birthday. Confirming that Lande is out of town, Gawhane wished him a happy birthday on social media. In fact, there is talk among Lande supporters that Gawhane has hoisted the banner of party workers and office bearers at his own expense.
