Forest residents will give a ‘helping hand’ to the hostel: MLA Mahesh Landge

Pimpri: In the remote areas of the western belt of Khed taluka, there are mansions and settlements of forest dwellers. BJP city president and MLA Mahesh Landge has resolved to help in the construction of the second floor of the Vanvasi student hostel, which was started for the education of the children there.

Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Dr. Dixit started a hostel in the year 1971 at Wada, Ta Khed. After that, the hostel was shifted to Rajgurunagar as Wada village went to the dam area. Tatya Khedkar here made available the site of the Ram Mandir on the banks of the river for a hostel. However, for the living conditions of the children at that place and the fear of flood water, the organization built a well-equipped building on Wada Road in Rajgurunagar with 12 guntas of land. Hostel Superintendent Amol Damre informed that the hostel is running here since 2009.

Meanwhile, Smt. Draupadi Murmu was sworn in as the country’s first tribal woman. Also, on the occasion of the birthday of Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Devendra Fadnavis, assistance was provided with essential items and school materials. Also, MLA Mahesh Landge resolved to help in the construction of the second floor of the building in the future. Superintendent Damre also expressed the belief that the work of the organization will get more speed due to this.

Free facility for tribal students…

At present, a total of 50 children from class 5th to 10th are studying in the hostel. The main purpose of starting the hostel was that the forest-dwelling children of this area should become educated and cultured citizens. This is not a hostel but a Gurukul that gives a real glimpse of the Hindu way of life. In this place, students are given good rituals, yoga, pranayama, computer education along with the pursuit of knowledge. Everything is provided free to children. Various festivals are celebrated in the hostel. Along with this, children are told the biographies of revolutionaries and social reformers. Student result in hostel is 100% every year. Also, Yoga and Pranayama are taught along with studies to increase the quality of students.

Expect help from the state government level…

This social project started in the year 1971 is famous as a model project in Pune district. Many government officials bring many dignitaries to show their hostels (model hostels). All trustees work here as a social commitment. Trustees do not receive any remuneration. However, apart from nutrition from the social welfare department of the Zilla Parishad, no help is provided by the state government. This tree stands in Dimakh with the kind help of many people who contribute to the work of mainstreaming the deprived, exploited and neglected tribal society. We should also contribute to this work. For that, it has been requested to contact the hostel superintendent Amol Damre at 94221995881.
