The judicial custody of former Home Minister and senior NCP leader Anil Deshmukh has been extended for 14 days. Anil Deshmukh was produced in the special PMLA court today. What exactly is the case?
In March last year, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh accused Deshmukh of corruption. Parambir Singh had alleged that Deshmukh ordered police officers to collect Rs 100 crore per month from restaurant and bar owners in Mumbai.
In this case, the CBI had filed a corruption case against Deshmukh and Vaze in April last year. After the High Court ordered the CBI to investigate the matter, Deshmukh resigned from the post of Home Minister.
