Traffic Empowerment in Pimpri-Chinchwad: Resolution in Sight for 42 ‘Missing Links’

Assurance from District Collector Jitendra Dudi : Review meeting led by MLA Mahesh Landge

Pune: In a significant move to strengthen the transport infrastructure of Pimpri-Chinchwad, District Collector Jitendra Dudi has assured that land acquisition processes for 42 missing road links in the city will be completed by 25 May 2025. A time-bound implementation plan has been initiated, and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has been directed to act accordingly.

The assurance was given during a review meeting held at the Pune District Collectorate, chaired by MLA Mahesh Landge (Bhosari Constituency, BJP). The meeting focused on resolving critical civic and infrastructural issues related to the growing needs of Pimpri-Chinchwad and the Bhosari Assembly constituency.

Key Highlights of the Meeting:

Land Acquisition for Missing Links:
Immediate steps will be taken to acquire land from private owners in areas like Charholi, Dighi, and Chikhali under the jurisdiction of PCMC’s E-F-G regional offices.
If possession of land cannot be obtained through mutual consent, the District Collector’s Office has been directed to prioritize official land acquisition proposals already submitted. The Land Acquisition Department has been instructed to initiate action within two days.

The meeting was attended by key officials including Prasad Gaikwad (Assistant Director of Town Planning), Kalyan Pandhare (Land Acquisition Coordinator), Usha Vishwasrao (Assistant Town Planner), Deputy Engineer Kute, and officers from the Land Records Department.

Other Developmental Matters Discussed:

  1. Dudulgaon Eco Tourism Park development.
  2. Availability of funds for MSEDCL-related infrastructure.
  3. Transfer of grazing land for public utility and development.

Grazing Land Transfer and Infrastructure Projects:

  1. In line with ongoing developmental efforts, the handover of land in Moshi to IIM Nagpur will be fast-tracked.
  2. Further, if documentation is completed promptly, land transfer for the 220/33 kV electricity substation will be executed.
  3. The District Collector has directed the PCMC to expedite the reservation amendment process.
    Additionally, a revised proposal for the city’s Safari Park is to be immediately submitted by the municipal authorities.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who has referred to Pimpri-Chinchwad as a ‘Future City,’ we are consistently pursuing the completion of all 42 missing road links. The District Collector has assured that roadwork will be streamlined by May 25.”
