‘Record Break’ Cycle Rally for Indrayani River Conservation
- Notion of BJP MLA Mahesh Landge - Over 30 thousand cyclists joined the rally

Pimpri : More than 30 thousand 370 cyclists participated in the ‘River Cyclothon-2023’ organized for the mission to spread the message of sanitation and conservation of river Indrayani.
‘Indrayani River Cyclothon’ is organized every year and is came alive through the notion of MLA Mahesh Landge. This is the sixth year of this initiative. The message “Let everyone keep our river Indrayani clean and pollution free” was spread through this rally. Avirat Shramdan, Cycle Mitra, Mahesh Dada Sports Foundation, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipality, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Department and other environment friendly organizations took initiative for this rally. More than 30 thousand 370 cyclists from Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad joined the rally.
This time the ‘River Cyclothon Team’ made its place in the Guinness Book of World Records and set a new record of ‘Longest Line of Bicycles Static’. The said certificate was awarded on this occasion. Presence of Hon. Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chaubey, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, wrestler Narsingh Yadav along with Municipal Corporation officials, Police Officers, officials of various institutions and organizations added to the glory of the occasion.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh said that here citizens are contributing in large numbers to clean the river even at this early morning. Administration of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is also working for the same. The administration has received two national and international awards this year. ‘River Cyclothon’ has a major contribution in this.
Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chaubey congratulated MLA Mahesh Landge for making the concept of River Cyclothon a reality for environmental conservation. He also thanked all the organizations, NGOs and eco-friendly individuals who raised the name of Pimpri-Chinchwad to international level and appreciated the cyclists who have set the new world record. He also advised the cyclists should be consistent for a healthy lifetime. 5, 15 and 15 km competitions are being held, Chaubey also hoped to witness a 35 km cycle rally next year.

Historic River Cyclothon Rally…
City cyclists gave a ‘record breaking’ response to the cycle rally organized to spread the message of river sanitation and conservation. This is the biggest cycle rally in Maharashtra. Interestingly, the ‘River Cyclothon Team’ has set the record of ‘Longest Line of Bicycles Static’ in the Guinness Book of World Records. Chief Coordinator Dr. Nilesh Londhe expressed gratitude for the remarkable response given by all cyclists, environment lovers and thanked all.

Pailwan ala ga… MLA Landge taps on the tune of the song..!
In the Zumba dance program organized on the occasion of River Cyclothon, MLA Mahesh Landge sang the song ‘Pailwan Ala Ga…’. Ashish Aher gifted a ‘sketch’ drawn by him to MLA Landge. Ashok Vishnupant Belapurkar, a 81-year-young man who cycled from Alandi to Landewadi for 33 consecutive years and has been cycling for 70 years, was honored on this occasion. Prakash Patil of Cycle Mitra who traveled six and a half thousand kilometers in Maharashtra for 66 consecutive days to different forts of Maharashtra was also honored. Mr. Ghule stated the importance of cleanliness.
Avirat Shramdan and Cycle Mitra Sangathan took initiative to organize ‘River Cyclothon’ to create awareness about river sanitation and environment conservation. 60 countries attempted to break Germany’s record. However, India succeeded in the same. The message of environment conservation and fitness is being given through this competition. The rally got a historical response. Thanks to cyclists and environmentalists for this.
