Know Your Polling Station: 2,318 citizens benefited from the service; PCMC urges voters to utilize Sarathi Helpline

Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched the “Know Your Polling Station” service to assist citizens of Pimpri, Bhosari, and Chinchwad assembly constituencies in locating their designated polling stations. To date, 2,318 citizens have benefited from this initiative. PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh has urged voters to contact the Sarathi Helpline at 8888006666 or 020-67339999 for information regarding their polling stations, changes in polling locations, or updates to voter details.
This initiative aligns with directives from the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra State, and the Election Commission of India, as well as instructions from the District Election Officer, Pune, aimed at increasing voter turnout in the 2024 State Assembly Elections. Under the guidance of Commissioner Singh and Additional Commissioner and Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Nodal Officer Vijaykumar Khorate, voter awareness campaigns are being conducted with the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodde and Assistant Commissioner Avinash Shinde.
As the polling day approaches on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, PCMC has ensured comprehensive arrangements at all polling stations across the city. Additionally, “Know Your Polling Station” helpdesks have been set up at all regional offices to provide in-person assistance to citizens.
Highlights of the Initiative:
Regional Engagement: Across eight regional offices, a total of 2,318 voters have accessed information, with numbers ranging from 189 in Region C to 402 in Region B.
Citizen Assistance: Voters can visit helpdesks or contact the Sarathi Helpline to determine their polling station using their EPIC (Electors Photo Identification Card) number.
Appeal to Voters:
Commissioner Shekhar Singh emphasized the importance of participating in the democratic process and urged all citizens to exercise their right to vote. He also highlighted that providing EPIC numbers simplifies the process of identifying polling stations. If unavailable, voters can share additional details such as name, age, date of birth, district, and assembly constituency to locate their polling stations. For further details, citizens may contact PCMC’s Sarathi Helpline or visit the regional offices nearest them.
