India’s First ‘Constitution Bhavan’ Dedicated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar!

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Correspondent : India, being the world’s largest democracy, is founded upon its Constitution. To promote, propagate, and spread awareness about this vital document, the country’s first Constitution Bhavan is being established in Pimpri-Chinchwad. This is the first such ‘Constitution Bhavan’ in India and is dedicated to Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, expressed BJP MLA Mahesh Landge.

On the occasion of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, tribute flex banners have been put up across the city. These banners are also being used as a medium to create awareness about the Indian Constitution among the residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad and nearby areas.

Under the vision of MLA Mahesh Landge, the work of constructing a Constitution Bhavan and an international-standard library is underway in Ward No. 11 of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). The work on this Constitution Bhavan is progressing steadily.

MLA Landge stated that in 2019, efforts to establish the Constitution Bhavan through the Pimpri-Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA) had begun. Later, the PCNTDA was merged into PMRDA. During the tenure of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, the project was delayed. However, after the Mahayuti coalition came to power in 2022, the project gained momentum. Efforts were made to transfer the proposed land from PMRDA to the Municipal Corporation, with follow-ups made with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. After that, the foundation stone for Phase 1 of the Constitution Bhavan was laid, and the construction began. The tender process for Phase 2 is in its final stages.

MLA Landge further stated that on April 14, the birth anniversary of the global icon Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar will be celebrated. Numerous followers commemorate his legacy by celebrating his birth anniversary as a festival. In this context, tribute banners have been placed to honor Dr. Ambedkar and raise awareness about the Constitution inspired by his vision. The Constitution Bhavan being constructed in Pimpri-Chinchwad is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the pride of the world, gifted India with the invaluable treasure of the Constitution. Through the Constitution he created, every Indian citizen has received the right to live a life of dignity. Inspired by his thoughts, the city is witnessing the construction of the Constitution Bhavan. The aim is to promote and disseminate knowledge about the Constitution and enable comparative studies of democratic constitutions across the world. This Constitution Bhavan is a tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
