Latur: A deadly tremor struck the MIDC area of Latur around midnight. The accused fatally attacked a police officer who had gone to arrest a fugitive accused in the murder case. So the police officers shot the accused in self-defense. The accused was critically injured and is undergoing treatment at Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical College, Latur.
Narayan Tukaram Irbatanwad of Shirur Tajband in Ahmedpur taluka is a fugitive accused from the Chakur police station area. So the police cordoned off the building to arrest Narayan Tukaram Irbatanwad.
While detaining Tukaram, the accused assaulted the police inspector’s genitals and tried to snatch a pistol from him. So in self-defense the police inspector fired. The accused was shot in the waist and has been admitted to Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical College in Latur for treatment. He is undergoing treatment and is said to be in critical condition. A case has been registered in this regard at MIDC police station.
