Jalgaon district has been experiencing heat wave since last week. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast that the maximum temperature in Jalgaon district will reach 45 degrees in the next two days. The temperature was recorded at 44 degrees Celsius on Monday.
In the last one and a half months, three heat waves have hit Jalgaon district including Vidarbha-Central Maharashtra. With May still to come, a big heat wave is expected. The maximum temperature in the district has remained at 40 degrees since March 16. March and April are the hottest months on record.

In the north-western part of India, the low pressure area has decreased, and now dry and hot winds are again reacting from Rajasthan and Gujarat towards Maharashtra. Therefore, the heat wave will continue in the district for the next four days. This year is experiencing the hottest waves in the last hundred years and the heat wave will be more intense in May.
