Curiosity increased! Mumbai Municipal Corporation leaving reservation on Tuesday; Where, at what time? Read

Mumbai: State Election Commission has ordered Mumbai Municipal Corporation to release the reservation of wards on Tuesday, May 31. Accordingly, the municipality has started administrative preparations. He will be leaving on Tuesday at Rangsharda Hall in Bandra. Excluding OBC reservation, it is leaving for women general, women reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The Supreme Court in its order dated May 4 has made it clear that the schedule for municipal elections should be announced within four weeks. Accordingly, the Election Commission has directed 14 Municipal Corporations in the state, including Mumbai, to release their reservations by May 31. In Mumbai, the number of wards has increased by nine from 237 to 236 this year. So there may be an increase in some seats in the reservation this year. Women have 50% reservation in local body elections.

In this reservation in the municipality, women will be drawn for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and general women. After this, a system has been set up in 24 wards of Mumbai to register objections and suggestions on reservation. Citizens will be able to submit their suggestions to this office till June 6. The final reservation will be released in the Gazette on June 13. As the OBC reservation has not been released yet, 61 OBC wards are likely to be open wards and 118 out of 236 wards will be for women. 15 wards are likely to be reserved for Scheduled Castes.
