Pune : Mukesh Ambani, chairman and MD of Indian industrialist Reliance Industries, has now become the owner of an American company. Reliance Industries (RIL) has acquired 79.4% stake in California-based company Senhawk.
Mukesh Ambani said, “In collaboration with Sensehawk, we will reduce costs, increase productivity and improve on-time performance to deliver the lowest LCoE (Leveled Cost of Electricity) for solar projects globally. It is a very exciting technology platform and I am confident that Senshawk will grow manifold with RIL’s support,”
The deal has been signed with Sensehawk for $32 million (about Rs. 255 crore). The deal is likely to close by the end of the year subject to regulatory approvals. Founded in 2018, Senhawk develops software-based management tools for the solar power generation industry. The company helps in planning and manufacturing solar projects using automation.
Reliance is setting up a fully integrated new energy manufacturing ecosystem in Jamnagar, investing Rs 75,000 crore. The company is building 4 new giga factories. One will have a photovoltaic panel built into it. Another factory is for energy storage. The third factory is for green hydrogen and fuel cell systems. The company announced a new gigafactory for power electronics at its AGM last week.
