Bus Accident: 8 out of 13 dead in ST accident have been identified, including 5 from Maharashtra

Jalgaon : A major accident has taken place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh when an ST bus fell into Narmada river. The bus belonging to Amalner depot in Jalgaon district fell into the riverbed from the Narmada river bridge at Khalghat and Thigri in Madhya Pradesh. A total of 13 people, including the driver and conductor of the ST, have lost their lives in this accident. Also, the number of passengers who died is feared to increase further.

Indore-Amalner bus (MH40 O N.9848) left Indore for Amalner at around 7.30 am on Monday morning. Driver Chandrakant Patil and carrier Prakash Shravan Chaudhary were taking the bus. But after reaching the bridge at Khalghat and Thigri, the tire of the bus burst and the bus fell directly into the Narmada river bed.
On getting information about the incident, the people around rushed to help. Also, NDRF and SDRF personnel from Indore and Dhar were immediately dispatched to the spot. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chavan ordered the administration to rescue. After that, 13 dead bodies have been removed from the river bed so far and eight of them have been identified.

Among the dead are five people from Maharashtra

It has been reported that four people from Jalgaon district are among those who died in the bus accident. This includes the bus driver and the carrier as well. Driver Chandrakant Eknath Patil (aged 45, resident of Amalner, Jalgaon), carrier Prakash Shravan Chaudhary (aged 40, resident of Sharda Colony, Amalner Jalgaon), Nimbaji Ananda Patil (aged 60, resident of Piloda, Amalner) and Kamala Nimbaji Patil ( Age 55, Ra Piloda Dist. Amalner) All the four deceased are from Jalgaon district. Arwa Murtaja Bora (age 27) of Murtijapur, Akola also lost his life in this accident.

Meanwhile, the Jalgaon Collectorate has informed the Chief Minister that a control room has been set up by the Jalgaon Collectorate regarding this accident. The control room numbers are 02572223180 and 02572217193.
