At the Ambedkar House in London, Dr. Former Social Justice Minister Rajkumar Badole said that the inquiry committee appointed by the British Government has given the results that there is no problem in erecting the memorial of Babasaheb Ambedkar.

In a building at 10 King Henry Road, NW3 in London. Ambedkar’s decision to erect a memorial was objected to by the local administration and the request for a memorial was rejected. The Maharashtra government had complained to the British government. A committee headed by Inspector Kerry Williams of the City Planning Department of the UK Government was appointed to probe the complaint. The committee was forwarded by the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Maharashtra government through his lawyers, informed social justice minister Rajkumar Barole.

It has now been allowed to transform this building from residential to museum D1. It is also permissible to make necessary corrections in this building. It is also allowed to work on guard walls, railings and lifts for the disabled.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar lived in the city of London from 1921-22 while studying in London. This property has been purchased by the Government of Maharashtra through the Indian High Commissioners in London. It is through them that Babasaheb Ambedkar’s monument and renovation work is underway. The local self-government organisation had objected to the conversion of this residence into a monument.

Responding to the objections raised by the local governing body (London Borough of Camden), it was stated that when the property was purchased, it was in very poor condition. Therefore, from a security point of view, it was urgently needed to renew it.

This monument will fulfill the dream of Ambedkar followers around the world. I would like to thank all the officers and legal experts who supported and supported the work, ”said former social justice minister Rajkumar Badole.
