Dada Bhau Gavade, Senior Rural Literary Figure, Appointed as President of Indrayani Literary Conference, and Vandana Alhat as the Reception Chairperson
The Third Indrayani Literary Conference to be held in Moshi on January 5

Pimpri – Senior rural literary figure Dada Bhau Jaywant Gavade has been appointed as the president of the Third Indrayani Literary Conference, which will be held in Moshi. Vandana Hiramani Alhat has been selected as the reception chairperson. This decision was made unanimously at the executive meeting of the Indrayani Literary Council, where senior literary figure Arun Borhade presented the proposal. The meeting was chaired by Sandeep Bhanudas Tapkir. Senior literary figure Sopan Khude approved the resolution.
Dada Bhau Jaywant Gavade is a well-known rural literary figure, and his autobiography “Aajun Pahat Jhali Nahi” has made a significant contribution to Marathi literature. In addition, he has several short story collections, novels, and poetry collections to his name. His poetry collection “Velivarchi Phule” was honored with a state government award, and his other books have also won various accolades. For the first time, a woman has been chosen as the reception chairperson of the Indrayani Literary Conference. Vandana Hiramani Alhat, a native of Moshi, comes from a background of the Warkari tradition. She is passionate about social work and strives to preserve literature, art, and culture. She is well-known as a social activist in the Moshi area.
At the meeting of the Indrayani Literary Council, Secretary Rambhau Saswade, Working President Sopan Khude, Sangeeta Devkar-Thorat, Rajesh Borate, Everest Warrior Shrihari Tapkir, Alankar Hinge, Sunil Jadhav-Saste, and other office bearers were present. After the appointments, Dada Bhau Gavade and Vandana Alhat were felicitated. Expressing his commitment to promoting the literary movement in rural areas, Gavade voiced concerns about the weakening of literary movements under the weight of modernization. Alhat emphasized the need for women to take the initiative in the movement to promote reading culture for the creation of a strong society and pledged to contribute to this cause.
