Pimpri: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s school at Bopkhel has shone internationally due to the vision of Chetan Ghule, former chairman of Municipal Education Committee.
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Bopkhel School (English Medium) has been named in the list of nominees for the best schools in the world. The school is in the top ten for this award. It will be the first school in the country to receive such an award. Ghule has expressed his satisfaction that the name of Bopkhel village has gone to the international level.
The US 250 250,000 for T4 Education in the United States has been announced today (Tuesday 2) to honor schools around the world for their significant contribution to the progress of society. Municipal Corporation’s Bopkhel School has been running Akanksha Foundation for the last six years. The institute has a staff of 25. There are 316 students. The school teaches children from junior KG to VI in slums and slums. Khoj School in Mumbai and PCMC English Medium School in Bopkhel, Pune are among the top 10 schools selected for the ‘Community Collaboration’ category. Bopkhel School was selected after a review panel comprising of experts in the field of education reviewed thousands of applications from schools around the world.
While working as the Chairman of the Municipal Education Committee, he provided state-of-the-art facilities to the students. As a student in a rural area like Bopkhel, he has made many changes so that he does not fall short anywhere. Every poor student in my Bopkhel village should be able to learn in English medium. The effort made for this and its realization is coming now.
