Attempt to provide better service to citizens through ‘PMPML’: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

Pune: Considering the increasing pollution in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad area, e-bus care is needed. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated that there is an effort to provide better service to the citizens through Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation (PMPML).

He was speaking at the inaugural function of Sinhagad e-bus service jointly organized by Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation and Forest Department. The inaugural function was held on the occasion of Maharashtra Day at Rashtra Dhwajavandan program at Police Sanchalan Maidan.

Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil, MLA Sunil Tingre, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, Social Welfare Commissioner Dr. Prashant Naranware, PMPL Managing Director Laxminarayan Mishra, Disability Welfare Commissioner Omprakash Deshmukh, Chief Conservator of Forests N.R. Praveen Adi was also present.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Pawar said that with the financial support of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, PMPML has expanded to a large extent. Excellent service was provided through PMPML during the strike of ST Corporation. PMPML’s e-bus service will help reduce pollution and provide pollution-free services to the citizens of the city. Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Pawar also inaugurated the 4th e-bus depot at Wagholi and e-bus service under ‘Mazha Sinhagad Mazha Abhiman’ scheme. The forts were also provided as a representative form of e-bus. Manisha Paygude of Sadichcha Mahila Bachat Group and Alka Padwal of Siddhivinayak Mahila Bachat Group were allotted sewing machines for making eco-friendly bags.

Publication of the guide

Guidance of Social Justice and Special Assistance Department was published by Mr. Pawar. The city of Pune is the home of learning and has a large number of students coming from outstations for education. He hoped that the guide would be useful for the students to know about the hostels and schemes of the social justice department. He also appealed to all to make efforts to maintain communal harmony in the state, take care not to hurt the feelings of others through their words and deeds and support the police.
