Emergency meeting of Director General of Police; Will there be a big decision about bongs?

Mumbai: While the atmosphere in the state is heating up due to the noise, a concrete decision is likely to be taken soon. The Home Department has taken immediate steps in this regard. The Director General of Police will hold a meeting of all the district chief police officers in the state. The meeting is expected to discuss the issue today. (Loudspeakers Controversy)

Nashik Police Commissioner Deepak Pandey has issued orders regarding bongs. According to the order, all religious places will be required to obtain permission for bonga. Also, Nashik police commissioner Deepak Pandey has ordered that religious places should get permission for bongs till May 3. The order also clarified that action would be taken against the concerned unauthorized bongs who did not seek permission as per the order.

Following the order of Nashik Police Commissioner, similar orders are likely to be issued in other parts of the state. The Director General of Police will hold a meeting of all the district chief police officers at 12 noon today. In this meeting, like the Nashik Police Commissioner, a decision is likely to be taken regarding the guidelines regarding horns and loudspeakers. Also, a meeting is being held between Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Dilip Walse Patil at 12 noon today. Therefore, a big decision is likely to be taken soon in the state.
