According to this, a hub for iPhone and electronic devices will be set up in Maharashtra in the near future. Through this, there will be huge investment in Maharashtra. I welcome him for this, said Eknath Shinde.

Also, Eknath Shinde also told the details of his conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about why the Vedanta Foxconn project moved from Maharashtra to Gujarat. I told Prime Minister Modi that big industries should come to Maharashtra. Maharashtra has that quality and infrastructure. I told Prime Minister Modi that we are ready to give necessary concessions to industries. Prime Minister Modi assured me on that. Regarding the Vedant Foxconn project, he said, ‘Their (company’s) mentality may have changed a little because they thought we would not get support in Maharashtra. Eknath Shinde said that Prime Minister Modi said that he would know that there will be a change of government in Maharashtra. However, Eknath Shinde also said that the Prime Minister has assured that the central government will help to bring bigger projects in Maharashtra in the future.

Maharashtra has lost investment worth Rs 1.54 lakh crore and nearly one and a half lakh jobs as Foxconn projects moved out of the state. Considering the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night. On this occasion, he raised the issue of Vedanta Foxconn project. This semiconductor and display fabrication project, a 60:40 joint venture between the ‘Vedanta’ group and Foxconn, a Taiwanese company, was very important for Maharashtra. This project will now be set up in Gujarat. The agreement in this regard was signed by Vijay Nehra, Secretary, Gujarat Science and Technology Department, on behalf of the Gujarat government on Tuesday.
