The accident did not compensate; Sangli court confiscates Karnataka ST bus

The Sangli court has given a good slap in the face to the Karnataka Transport Board for refusing to pay accident compensation. Action has been taken to confiscate the bus directly to compensate the heirs of the deceased family. The court has taken this action as no compensation is being paid even after ordering compensation of Rs 8 lakh 33 thousand.

  • What is the whole incident?

There was an accident in 2015 in Miraj city. Bhanudas Bhosale on a two-wheeler was killed when a Karnataka Transport Board bus collided with him in the accident. The relatives of the deceased had filed a suit in the Sangli court seeking damages in the case. In 2016, the Sangli court had ordered the Karnataka Transport Board to pay Rs 8 lakh 33 thousand 563 to the family of the deceased Bhosale. However, the Karnataka ST Corporation was refusing to pay the compensation.

While Vijaya Bhosale, wife of the deceased Bhosale, had brought the matter to the notice of the Sangli court, the Sangli court directly ordered to confiscate the ST Corporation bus and recover the damages. After the Sangli ST depot confiscated the Karnataka ST bus from the Sangli court bailiff and handed it over to Bhosale’s wife Vijaya Bhosale.
