Storm rains in the next 5 days in the state, alert to which districts?

Mumbai: The monsoon that entered the state on Friday covered the entire Konkan on Monday. Monsoon has started in Central Maharashtra and most parts of Marathwada. However, the progress of the monsoon has been slow. The rains have taken a break after the onset of monsoon. However, the Indian Meteorological Department has forecast that monsoon will cover parts of Vidarbha in the next 48 hours, covering the whole of Central Maharashtra and Marathwada. According to the meteorological department, thunderstorms and thunderstorms are expected in some districts of the state in the next five days due to off-shore trough and westerly winds on the west coast.

The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast rains in the next five days in Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada due to the basin conditions parallel to the coast from Gujarat to Kerala in the Arabian Sea and winds blowing from the west.

The conditions are favorable for the monsoon to continue its journey and for the rest of Maharashtra to get the energy it needs for good monsoon rains, said Manikrao Khule, a retired meteorologist. Meanwhile, according to Mumbai AMD, North Konkan and South Konkan have been warned of rains till June 18 in a row. Rain has also been warned in Goa and North Central Maharashtra, South Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, East Vidarbha and West Vidarbha.

  • Rain deficit

Due to non-availability of regular rainfall, the entire state has received 44% less rainfall than expected at present. Except Nanded, Osmanabad and Parbhani, all other districts have deficient rainfall. There are additional deficits in Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri in Konkan division, Jalgaon in Central Maharashtra, Kolhapur, Satara, Hingoli in Marathwada, Jalna. Akola, Buldana and Washim districts of Vidarbha also have deficit and other districts have additional deficit. Therefore, along with the arrival of monsoon, the citizens are also waiting for the experience of actual rains.
