Pune : Thousands of devotees had arrived on Monday (15th) for the darshan of Shri Chintamani Ganapati on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi at Sri Kshetra Theur (T. Haveli), which is famous among the Ashtavinayakas. There were long queues of devotees for darshan since morning. The temple area was like a pilgrimage.
Today is the Lactose Yoga of this century. Sankashta Chaturthi and India’s 75th Amritmahotsav Independence Day are on the same day. On the occasion of this Golden Yoga, Shri Chintamani Ganapati tricolor flag garlands of 3 colors of fruits and flowers were done on behalf of youth leader Yuvraj Kakade.
Many vendors were sitting in the temple area with village vegetables, fruits, cashew nuts, kokum, tubers and wild fruits. Devotees coming to the temple were buying it. Shops and hotels in the temple area were crowded with customers. There was a huge crowd at the hotels, toy and jewelery shops, coconut, garland, flower and papad mirgund, pulse sellers, prasad and pedhewale shops in the area. Therefore, a large crowd was seen in the temple area.
Devotees had come in large numbers to visit Chintamani as it was a holiday for the last three days. Around four o’clock in the morning, Agalave worshiped ‘Shri’ and from six o’clock in the morning the temple was opened for darshan of the devotees. On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, an attractive rangoli was made using different types of flowers, flower arrangement, mandap arrangement for foot shade and cleanliness planet was arranged for the devotees. In the afternoon, fasting khichdi was distributed to the devotees on behalf of the temple.
Meanwhile, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Mokashi of Loni Kalbhor Police Station, the police had kept a tight security in the temple area. Also parking was arranged by Theur Gram Panchayat. Anand Maharaj Tambe was paying close attention to the temple area.
