At present water supply for Pimpri-Chinchwad is from Pavana Dam. Therefore, it was necessary to create other sources of water supply for the city apart from the Pavana Dam. BJP’s then Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan took a positive decision. On the initiative of MLA Mahesh Landge, the project was approved to get 100 MLD water from Andhra Dam and 167 MLD water from Bhama Askhed to Pimpri-Chinchwad during BJP’s rule in the Municipal Corporation.
