Mumbai : Pradeep Patvardhan, a famous actor in Marathi cinema, has passed away. He breathed his last in Mumbai this morning. His death has spread mourning in Marathi cinema. He died at his residence in Girgaon.
Pradeep Patwardhan’s role in the play Moruchi Mavashi was very popular. Director Kedar Shinde’s aunt, Sundhara Sable, recalls that the craze for Pradeep was more than the number of Moruchi visits for Vijay Chavan.
Vasundhara Sable, mother of writer-lyricist Omkar Mangesh Dutt and aunt of director-producer Kedar Shinde, has shared a post on Facebook reminiscing about Pradeeppatvardhan. In it she writes, “Today our beloved Mitra Pradeep aka Patya left us..Kedar informed me of this shocking news and for a moment something happened…In a moment the memories of Pradeep in my life flashed before my eyes…Pradeep who was very handsome in his youth was literally a talisman in the necks of girls..in Girgaon He used to stay and Pradeep’s dance in Ganapati Visarjan was the main attraction there..He turned to plays after doing one-act plays..Tour Tour, Moruchi Mavashi were his plays at the threshold of his youth..Muli Vijay Chavan had a craze for Pradeep more than Moruchi Mavashi came to see him. .Dance was his passion and that’s why Pradeep was cast in our folk song for “Athsha Khidkya Navushe Dar” and he literally nailed it..Nobody could do that dance like him again..”
