Aurangabad: With the rising electricity bill in Marathwada, MSEDCL has finally announced a reward scheme to attract customers to pay their bills. MSEDCL has come up with an awesome scheme of rewards for the customers as the expected electricity bill has not been recovered even after conducting various campaigns in five months. However, due to low power consumption during monsoons, there is skepticism about the response from consumers.
MSEDCL is sending monthly electricity bills to domestic electricity customers. Some customers pay regular bills. However, many customers are in arrears. In Marathwada, the mountain of exhausted electricity bills is increasing. If household customers pay regular electricity bills, the arrears will be reduced and the stress on MSEDCL will be lessened. Against this backdrop, MSEDCL has decided to give rewards to the customers who pay their current electricity bills with arrears before the due date. Prizes will be awarded to customers selected through lottery. In the last five months, MSEDCL has implemented schemes like ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ but has not received much response in paying electricity bills. MSEDCL has for the first time implemented a reward scheme for its customers as the payment is not increasing despite giving the target to the employees to recover the electricity bill. Due to power shortage in the state, MSEDCL is buying electricity from various power generation companies at exorbitant rates. Electricity is distributed to consumers at low rates. The arrears are increasing due to low monthly regular bill payments. Employees have to follow up with customers to pay the bills. In order to inculcate the habit of paying electricity bills to the customers, from June to August 2022, prizes of lakhs of rupees will be given through MSEDCL Regional Office in Marathwada. MSEDCL expects the minimum rewards to increase bills.
There is a three-month bumper lottery competition to pay arrears online or offline with current bills. MSEDCL employees will not be able to participate in this competition. Lottery results will be announced on the 10th of every month. It has been clarified that the decision of the co-managing director of MSEDCL will be final. Due to low power consumption during monsoons, consumers are curious about how they will respond to the competition.

Those who pay the overdue electricity bill of MSEDCL before the due date should participate in the bumper lottery competition. The plan is to encourage customers to pay their outstanding bills.
