Lok Samvad: Suffix of ‘Politics with Respect’ in Bhosari Wrestling Arena

Leaders and office bearers of all parties maintained the prestige and self-respect of the village

Pimpri. Special Representative
The saying “Twelve villages is another, one village is Bhosari” is often heard in Panchkrushi. Bhosari’s soil is deeply rooted in politics and wrestling. In the last two years, the village deity Shri. Bhairavnath festival was not celebrated. This year, however, as the black clouds of Kovid parted, the Bhosarikars decided to celebrate the festival.
In Bhosari village of Pimpri-Chinchwad, which is known as a working city, industrial city, best city, smart city, the honor and dignity of elders is still cherished. “What will Rao do if he goes to the village?” Some senior congregations sit together to make decisions about the festival or the village. The decision is taken unanimously, it is acceptable to the whole village. The decision taken in the village meeting is final.

The tradition of bullfighting and wrestling for the festival continues. Bullock cart racing was banned. After that there was no race for 11 to 12 years. The races were held this year after the Supreme Court gave conditional permission to bullock cart races. However, it was suddenly decided to cancel the race. Attempts were made to give it a political twist, citing the cause of the village-brotherhood dispute. The same thing started happening on social media. However, no local villagers have officially said that there are village-brother disputes. In contrast, how did the issue of village-brotherhood come out? Is anyone involved in village politics? Such wrath fell on the congregations of wolves, wolves, wolves, wolves, wolves, wolves, etc. In the wrestling arena, however, the Bhosarikars literally painted a sigh of relief for those who were poisoning the ‘Bhosari village split… village-brotherhood differences’.
Wrestling is an intimate subject of Bhosarikars. The Bhairavnath festival is so full of wrestling that Bhosarikar gathers enthusiastically at the arena. This year, wrestling was organized at Vastad Sadashivrao Fuge Akhada ground on Gavajatra ground. We got to see the colorful wrestling and the unity of the village.
Wrestling was organized by Vice President of Indian Wrestling Association Balasaheb Landage, BJP City President and MLA Mahesh Landage, NCP City President Ajit Gavhane, Vasant Londhe, Ravi Landage, Jalindar Shinde and Sagar Gawli. Former Chairman of the Standing Committee Nitin Landage, Santosh Londhe, Chairman of the Festival Committee Pandit Gawli, Former Councilors Vishwanath Lande, Vikrant Lande, Yogesh Landage, Bhanudas Fuge were present on the occasion. No party was seen here, no flag was seen, the leaders and office bearers appearing on the political stage as staunch opponents of each other were also enjoying wrestling hand in hand and applauding the winners. As a result, the villagers in Bhosari were completely disillusioned.

Appearance of unity even in prestigious awards
The fight was between wrestler Dheeraj Ranawade and Sagar Lohar. In this, Ranavade wrestled and won the silver medal of Bhosari young emperor given in memory of Dnyaneshwar Londhe. Akshay Karpe smashed the silver mace of Bhojapur Malla emperor in memory of Kachdev Londhe. Prithviraj Mohol got the silver mace given in memory of Ankushrao Landage. Vastad Kisanrao Shinde, Ganpat Gavhane, Hiraman Londhe, Suresh Londhe, Madan Gavhane and Lala Landage were the judges of the arena. Bhosarikar has great faith in Bhairavnath, the village deity. Bhosari is currently the focal point of the city’s politics. However, this anti-village sentiment has to be called a suggestive message. This unity of Bhosarikar has to be said to be the ideal in the rural culture of Maharashtra.
