Bhushi Dam in Lonavala Overflows

Lonavala | The Bhushi Dam in Lonavala is a major tourist attraction. This year, the dam started overflowing as early as the second week of June, marking an enthusiastic start to the tourist season. Compared to the last two years, the dam has filled up 15 days earlier this year.
In 2025, the dam was full on June 16, whereas in 2024 it filled on June 30, and in 2023 on July 1. Due to the strong monsoon this year, a large number of tourists are expected to flock to Lonavala.
- Tourists Advised to Be Cautious
However, with water accumulation, slippery steps, and increasing crowding around the Bhushi Dam area, the risk of accidents has risen. Therefore, local authorities and the police department have urged tourists to exercise caution.
The Lonavala police and administration have implemented crowd control measures. Special traffic management plans have also been put in place, and tourists are requested to cooperate with the authorities.
