Administrator Shekhar Singh : MoU in Municipal – ITDP organization

An MoU was signed between Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and ITDP (Institute of Transport and Development Policy) for effective implementation of ‘Non Motorized Transport (NMT)’ policy in Pimpri Chinchwad city. Through this agreement, public awareness about ‘non-motorized transport’ will be created among the citizens of the city. Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh informed that various activities will be implemented to promote safe transportation and will help reduce traffic congestion in the city.
The agreement was signed by Administrator Shekhar Singh in the office of Municipal Commissioner. On the occasion of this MoU, Smart City’s Hon. Co-CEO Kiranraj Yadav, City Engineer and Co-CEO of Smart City (ABD) Makarand Nikam, Chief Financial Officer Sunil Bhosale, Company Secretary Mrs. Chitra Panwar, Executive Engineer Pramod Ombhase, Bapusaheb Gaikwad, Sunil Pawar, Ashik Jain, On behalf of ITDP organization Shri. Aswathi Dilip, Pranjal Kulkarni along with office bearers of the organization were present.
ITDP is an organization that works to promote safe, modern and efficient public transport systems in cities around the world. The activities implemented under the MoU with Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will also help in reducing the level of pollution. Focusing on non-motorized transport is crucial for the success of India’s ambitious Smart City mission and upcoming metro lines, and this agreement will be beneficial for that.
