Abba! Heroin worth 200 crore seized from Pakistani boat near Gujarat, six people detained

Coast Guard and Gujarat ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad) jointly conducted a major operation this morning in the Indian maritime territory near Gujarat. Indian Coast Guard and ATS intercepted a boat. It contained about 40 kg of heroin. Its price is roughly 200 crores. Six people on the boat have been detained in this case. A joint team of Indian Coast Guard and Gujarat ATS intercepted a fishing boat about 33 nautical miles from Jakhau port in Kutch district. The boat was Pakistani and was found to be carrying drugs. After being landed on the Gujarat coast, the narcotics were to be taken to Punjab by road, an ATS officer informed.

ATS received a tip-off about a suspicious boat approaching the Gujarat coast. Accordingly, this action was taken with the help of Coast Guard. After detaining six Pakistani nationals on the boat, 40 kg of heroin was found with them, the official said. Gujarat ATS has seized drugs worth around Rs 6500 crore in the last nine months through raids not only in Gujarat but also in various states.

Gujarat ATS second major operation in four days
The Gujarat ATS and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) had seized heroin worth Rs 200 crore in a raid in West Bengal four days ago. Gujarat ATS received information that drugs were brought from Dubai to India in scrap containers. Accordingly, a raid was conducted near Kolkata port.

The scrap container from Dubai contained 7220 kg of scrap. It had 36 gearboxes. 40 kg of heroin was hidden in 12 gear boxes. This box was specially marked with white ink. The drugs were shipped in a shipping container from Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port. These drugs reached Kolkata port in February.
