Ajit Pawar expresses gratitude to PM Modi for Banjara Virasat Museum, says “this museum will showcase the rich heritage, culture, and traditions of the Banjara community ”

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched various initiatives related to the agricultural and animal husbandry sector worth around Rs 23,300 crore in Washim. He also inaugurated Banjara Virasat Museum in Pohradevi, “our Banjara society has played a big role in India’s social life and journey of development”, the Prime Minister said. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar participated in the program. The PM also inaugurated the first phase of BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line-3.

Talking about the Museum, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said “this museum will showcase the rich heritage, culture, and traditions of the Banjara community.” In 2017, the then-Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis allocated ₹25 crore for this project. He later provided an additional ₹100 crore, with Sanjay Rathod taking the initiative. The project’s current scale now is at ₹700 crore. Deputy CM reiterated the Mahayuti government’s commitment to the community “we assure you that the Mahayuti government will continue to work for your welfare.” He also thanked PM for granting Marathi the status of a classical language, Pawar said “I extend my gratitude on behalf of the 13-crore people of Maharashtra.”
