Support to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is the role of NCP, let’s try to save the government: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

Mumbai: The meeting was held in the presence of NCP President Sharad Pawar, State President Jayant Patil, Assembly and Legislative Council MLAs and Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs. Given the political situation in the state, we will try to figure out how to support the Mahavikas Aghadi government headed by Uddhav Thackeray.
I have spoken to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in the afternoon. I have also spoken to Aditya Thackeray, said Ajit Pawar. We have no other role than this, said Ajit Pawar. Shiv Sena leader spokesperson will tell about this. Sena’s Kailas Patil and Nitin Deshmukh have returned. The Chief Minister has appealed to his MLAs. We have supported Uddhav Thackeray to sustain the Mahavikas Aghadi government. All our MLAs agree with our position, said Ajit Pawar.
- The question would have been solved if it had been said face to face
Our colleagues have made some statements. Two and a half years have passed since the government came to power. The Guardian Minister’s post was taken equally by all the three parties. I have never done any harm in terms of development work, said Ajit Pawar. Instead of talking to the media, if Balasaheb Thorat, Ashok Chavan and Jayant Patil had said it in the meeting, the issue would have been resolved there, said Ajit Pawar.
- The government will try to survive
The government of Mahavikas Aghadi had got the support of 170 votes. It was decided that we do not want to interfere in the constituency of which the MLA is. If the MLA belongs to one party and the municipality belongs to one party, then something must have happened, said Ajit Pawar.
Under the leadership of Sanjay Raut, we went to the Mahavikas front. It is the responsibility of all three parties to maintain the government. We will work together to get the government out of this, said Ajit Pawar.
Sanjay Raut has said that the government will last for 25 years and not for five years. I do not know in what condition he made this statement. I will discuss with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and ask him if he has anything on his mind, said Ajit Pawar.
- Uddhav will stay with Thackeray
The party has to make a decision if it has a majority of MLAs. We will stay with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray till the end, said Ajit Pawar. NCP MLAs will try to run the government from this situation, said Ajit Pawar.
If there is a dispute in the NCP, it should be resolved by the NCP. That is an internal issue of Shiv Sena, we will not talk about it. If he thinks that NCP and Congress are growing, then Eknath Shinde should have said so in a joint meeting. As there is a three-party alliance, they should have told if anything had happened, said Ajit Pawar.
