Three arrested by police in Jalgaon district before robbery; Weapons confiscated

Ahmednagar: A team of Special Inspector General of Police has arrested three notorious criminals who went to carry out a robbery in Chopda taluka of Jalgaon district. Three village weapons and other items have been seized from the accused. However, two of his accomplices from Madhya Pradesh managed to escape. A case has been registered against him at Chopda Rural Police Station for preparing a robbery and carrying an illegal weapon. The accused were handed over to Chopda Rural Police for further action. So far, more than 200 cases of illegal possession of firearms have been registered in the area. In this operation, 145 village kattas, 282 swords and 35 sures have been seized. In this, action has been taken against more than 350 accused. In particular, the police have reached the illegal arms factory in Madhya Pradesh from where the arms are supplied. At present, the police have managed to stop the supply from there. To control criminal gangs, action has now been taken against 35 gangs under the Maharashtra Organized Crime Prevention Act (MCOCA).
