Ratnagiri: The incident took place in Dapoli after a minor girl was defamed by refusing to have a love affair or get married. Dapoli police have arrested the accused in connection with the case under Pokso. The accused was produced before the court and remanded in police custody. The case was registered late Wednesday night and he was remanded in police custody on Thursday.
According to the information received from Dapoli police in this case, between January 2 and April 10, 2022, the suspect Aniket Ravindra Dhepe Patil (age 24) tried to have a love affair with a 17 year old girl and also to get married. However, when the girl denied it, Aniket posted a photo of the girl on Facebook and posted an obscene text. The victim girl has finally lodged a complaint against Aniket Dhepe Patil at Dapoli police station. A case has been registered against Aniket at Dapoli police station under the Information Technology Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act. Accordingly, the accused has been arrested under Section 354D, 509, 506, POSCO Section 12 and IT Act 67. Further investigation is being conducted by Inspector Vivek Ahire.
