The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested two terrorists belonging to the Khurasan module of the terrorist organization Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Police have arrested the two from the Okhla area. Both are said to be spouses. Police suspect that Jahanzeb Sami and Hinda Bashir Beg are both preparing for the Delhi suicide attack. Police have also seized sensitive material from both.
The information provided by the Delhi Police is that both men and women were operating a social media platform called ‘Indian Muslim Unite’. Their goal was to get more people involved in the CAA, the anti-NRC movement. The couple has been linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization. Both have been living in Delhi since August-2019. Offensive documents have also been found at the site. Jahanzeb Sami was working in a private company in Delhi. Police are investigating the two.
The ISKP, the Khurasan module, is part of the Islamic State. The terrorists intend to get more people involved in the CAA, anti-NRC agitation, police said. The couple lived for a year in Okhla Vihar in Jamia, Delhi. After being arrested, the two were taken to the Special Cell’s office and IB officials are investigating them thoroughly.
