World Record by ‘Indrayani River Cyclothon’ Team; Rally comes alive tomorrow!

The 'Longest Line of Bicycles Static' wins a place in Guinness Book of World Records

Pimpri-Chinchwad proudly attains one more feather in its hat

Pimpri : Thanks to the initiative by the team of ‘Indrayani River Cyclothon’; working for environmental conservation, one more honor has been bagged by the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Breaking previous record by Germany, this team has now established the world record of ‘Longest Line of Bicycles Static’. It has won place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Citing this event, the organizers have claimed that around 30 thousand cyclists will participate in the historic rally coming alive on Sunday, December 3.

Every year on Avirat Shramdan, Cycle Mitra, Maheshdada Sports Foundation, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police and various environment loving organizations in the area organize ‘Indrayani River Cyclothon’ for the nonle purpose of cleaning and conservation of river Indrayani. Against this backdrop, the ‘River Cyclothon’ team had resolved to set a world record on Saturday. MLA Mahesh Landge, Representative of Avirat Shramdan Dr. Nilesh Londhe along with concerned officials of Guinness World Records were present on the occasion.

Previously, the world record of ‘Longest Line of Bicycles Static’ was established in Germany in 2015. Now, India and Pimpri-Chinchwad city has proud to carve city’s name on this record. This record was set at the Gavjatra ground in Bhosari.

Today is a golden day for the team of ‘Indrayani River Cyclothon’. We have been striving for this achievement for last two months. It is a special feeling of gratification to a place in the ‘Guinness World Records’. Tomorrow, on December 3; a historic cycle rally will start in the morning from Gavjatra Maidan, Bhosari to convey the message of river cleanliness and conservation by taking inspiration from the concept put forward by Hon. MLA Mahesh Landge. The rally will be held in three categories i.e. of 5 km, 10 km and 25 km. Winners will be felicitated with medals and gifts. People are requested to participate in this rally in huge number.
