The Incident at Kundmala is Extremely Tragic – MP Shrirang Barne

Maval | The collapse of the iron footbridge over the Indrayani River at Kundmala in Induri, located in the Maval taluka, is an extremely tragic incident. Three tourists have lost their lives in this accident, and more than 32 others have been injured. Six of them are in critical condition. A search operation is ongoing for those who were swept away in the water. The bridge was in a dilapidated condition. MP Shrirang Barne from Maval has demanded immediate repairs of such deteriorated bridges.
MP Barne stated that Kundmala sees a large crowd of tourists during the monsoon season. Being a Sunday, a huge number of tourists had gathered at the site. Some of them were standing on the bridge when it collapsed, leading to this tragedy.
This bridge is used to cross the river from one side to the other at Kundmala. It was already in a poor condition. Just two days ago, a meeting was held with the Maval administration. Instructions were given to deploy additional security at tourist spots. The iron bridge at Kundmala was in a dilapidated state. There are many tourist spots in Maval, and the condition of several bridges in the area is deteriorating. They should be repaired immediately.
All possible assistance is being provided to those injured in the Kundmala accident. They have been admitted to a hospital in Somatane. MP Barne stated that he is in contact with the doctors.
