Shiv Sena maintains ground: Sachin Ahir, Aamshya Padvi won the assembly elections

Mumbai: Voting was held for 10 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Council. Like the Rajya Sabha elections, the BJP and the Mahavikas Aghadi had also gained strength in this election. Eleven candidates were in the fray for 10 seats in the Legislative Council. BJP had fielded Pravin Darekar, Uma Khapre, Ram Shinde, Shrikant Bharatiya and Prasad Lad. Shiv Sena had fielded Sachin Ahir, Amashya Padvi, NCP had fielded Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar, Eknath Khadse, Congress had fielded Bhai Jagtap and Chandrakant Handore. The election started as there were 11 candidates from BJP, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress. BJP’s Pravin Darekar, Uma Khapre, Ram Shinde and Shrikant Bhartiya have won. So, Shiv Sena’s Sachin Ahir, Amshya Padvi have won. NCP’s Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar and Eknath Khadse have won.

The counting of votes was delayed after the Congress complained
The Congress had objected to the voting of BJP MLAs Laxman Jagtap and Mukta Tilak. The State Election Commission rejected the objection raised by the Congress. The case then went to the Central Election Commission. The counting of votes began after the Central Election Commission also rejected the Congress’ objection.

The results of the Legislative Council elections will be analyzed. Mahavikas had the role of voting for the allies in the front. Shiv Sena MLAs are united under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray. After the final verdict, it would be appropriate to comment on the matter, said Sachin Ahir.
