Restart PMP’s rural monthly pass facility: MLA Mahesh Landage

Pimpri:BJP city president and MLA Mahesh Landage has suggested that the monthly pass facility for travel in rural Pune should be re-introduced through Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation (PMP).

A statement has been issued to the PMP’s managing director in this regard. It said that the Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation (PMPML) has completely discontinued the daily pass for urban and rural areas of Rs 70 and monthly Rs 1,400 from April. Therefore, there is no option but to issue a ticket while traveling by PMP outside the municipal limits. This decision is a financial blow to the passengers outside the municipal limits. Passengers are being inconvenienced as there will be no pass available for commuting to and from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.

Our department is seen as a very valuable and rightful option for the travel of citizens for Pune city and rural areas. Good service is being provided by the administration for transportation on every road in rural areas.

From rural areas to the urban areas of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, millions of citizens are traveling for employment as well as students in large numbers. The traveling citizens are from ordinary families and they are taking full advantage of their bus service. Accordingly, we demand that our department should resume daily pass and monthly pass facility in Pune rural area, said MLA Landage.
