PCMC: Punawale Residents Plan Bell-Ringing Protest Over PCMC’s Garbage Depot Project

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in Punawale, residents are escalating their opposition

Pimpri Chinchwad : In response to the proposed Solid Waste Management (SWM) project by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in Punawale, residents are escalating their opposition. A bell-ringing protest is scheduled to take place near Lotus Business School in Punawale on Sunday, December 3 at 10 am.

Sachin Londhe, Vice President of Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Society, highlighted the objective of the movement—to awaken the administration and government that the residents vehemently oppose the SWM project in Punawale. This protest follows a recent bike rally organized by locals from Punawale and surrounding areas to express their discontent with the PCMC’s decision.

Numerous people’s representatives and political leaders in Pimpri Chinchwad have assured Punawale residents that they will vehemently oppose the implementation of the SWM project in the area. The protest is indicative of the collective effort by Punawale residents to communicate their concerns and resistance against the proposed waste management project.
