“LPJ Innovation Awards” – A platform to foster innovation for a developed India: Shankar Jagtap

Pimpri: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned a developed India by 2047. To achieve this, many innovative and creative ideas need to come forward. It was for this purpose that the “LPJ Innovation Awards” competition was organized. Through this, the creativity and innovation hidden in the students of Pimpri-Chinchwad should come to the fore. The aim of this competition was to create future scientists and entrepreneurs from these students. BJP city president Shankar Jagtap said on Saturday (March 16) that the competition will be held every year to encourage innovation among students.

Jagtap was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of “LPJ Innovation Awards 2024”, a competition organized for school and college students in the city by Laxmanbhau Jagtap Kala and Krida Academy based on his concept. The program was held at New Millennium English School, Navi Sangvi. Dr. Satish Mishra, Prof. Dr. Mukesh Aggarwal, Prof. Dr. Manjiri Sharma, Prof. Sharad Gupta, Principal Swati Pawar, Inayat Mujawar, BJP city general secretary Namdev Dhake, Vilas Madgeri, former corporator Sagar Angolkar, Laxmanbhau Jagtap Kala and Krida Academy president Dnyaneshwar alias Mauli Jagtap, Ganesh Sahakari Bank director Pramod Thackeray, Raj Somvanshi, Sagar Fuge, Prof. Prahlad Zarande, Pratap Bamane, Dr. Vikas Pawar and others were present.

For this competition, students from schools and colleges were invited to present or suggest creative, innovative and innovative projects or ideas on topics such as “Science”, “Environment”, “Digitization”, “Sustainable Smart City”, “Revenue”, “Health and Wellness”, “Culture and Heritage”, “Waste Management”, “Urban Mobilization”, “E-Governance”. For this, the academy had created awareness in every school and college in the city. The competition, which was organized from December 5, 2023 to February 15, 2024, received an overwhelming response with a total of 612 students from 39 schools, junior and senior colleges in the city participating. Of these, 494 students were eligible for the competition. These students presented many innovative ideas and projects. Dipu Suresh Kumar More, Yasvi Gulshan Malhotra, Shubh Shashikant Mhatre, Shubham Siddhant Jankar, Santoshi Hariyath Rajpurohit, Pranjal Krishna Wagale, Prajwal BR, Pratyay Sharan Swami, Aryan Gogle, Priyadarshini Uttam Waise, Pandurang Vilas Jetkar, Mrudula Sandeep Khedkar, Rishikesh Sharad Memane, Sanika Santosh Sapre and Soham Shivaji Gogare were awarded prizes. The first place winners were awarded laptops and trophies, the second and third place winners were awarded tablets and trophies, and the winners selected by the judges were awarded smart watches and trophies. In addition, all the students who participated in the competition will be encouraged by giving them the book “The Guiding Light” by former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

To fulfill this guarantee, new discoveries, new ideas and new technologies need to come forward. For this, “LPJ Innovation Awards 2024″ was organized to create interest in science and technology among the next generation and to inspire and encourage them. Through this, the aim was to create a scientific, social, economic and creative attitude in the minds of the students. The schools, colleges and students of the city have given an overwhelming response to this. The creativity and creativity of the students participating in this competition has got a boost. This is an era of innovation, knowledge, transparency and competition. This competition has proved to be a confidence booster for the students to move forward. He expressed the hope that many students from Pimpri-Chinchwad will become great scientists and entrepreneurs of the country.”

Examiner Prof. Dr. Manjiri Sharma said, “The overwhelming response from the students to this competition was unexpected. The students who participated in the competition have presented many important projects. The creativity shown by the students in these projects is amazing. Students have presented innovative projects with a creative and innovative approach, understanding the needs of the customers. They have presented these projects using critical thinking, problem solving, soft skills development, creativity and innovative use of theoretical knowledge. This shows how deep technical knowledge the students have.”
