Pimpri Chinchwad | There is strong dissatisfaction among citizens and traders regarding the newly constructed Nigdi Subway on the Pune-Mumbai Old Highway by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Former corporator Sharmila Babar has demanded that the municipal administration take immediate action to resolve these issues.
Subway Has Become a Hub for Alcoholics
Due to the presence of three liquor stores near the subway, it has become a gathering spot for drinkers. These individuals are often seen drinking, sleeping, and throwing garbage around the area. As a result, fewer citizens are using the subway, and elderly people, women, and children are feeling unsafe.
Lack of Security Measures
Although security guards are assigned to the subway, locals claim that they are rarely present. This lack of security has caused growing frustration among citizens.
Warning from the Traders’ Association
Under the leadership of former corporator Sharmila Babar, the Traders’ Association has demanded that all issues related to the subway be resolved immediately. They have warned that they will either block the subway or launch a major protest if the situation is not addressed.
