Mumbai : Sevayojan Offices (Employment Exchange) in the state are almost closed. The employment opportunities that used to be available through employment exchanges are no longer available. Also educated unemployed in the state were getting unemployment allowance earlier. The state government has stopped that allowance. Therefore, senior leader MLA Eknath Khadse demanded Rs 5,000 allowance per month to the educated unemployed through a starred question in the Vidhan Parishad.

Sevayojan Office (Employment Exchange) is almost closed. Employment opportunities are no longer available. So will there be any process to register the unemployed through skill development department or other departments? He asked such questions.

On this occasion MLA Shashikant Shinde also raised some questions. Former Skill Development Minister Hon. Nawab Malik had implemented the resolution to get 1 lakh youth jobs. Is the skill development department going to implement any scheme like that? Also, many youth register in the employment exchange but no one calls them for employment. This is the state of affairs. Are you going to do government recruitment instead of contract workers on the vacant posts in the government office? Shashikant Shinde asked this question to the government.

Also, by making some rules for private companies, will the unemployed who are registered in the employment exchange be given priority jobs? Will the government take any policy decisions in this regard? Such questions were raised by Shinde.

Skill Development Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha replied that he would think positively about the registration of the unemployed. The Skill Development Department has created a portal in which the unemployed are registered. Also, he refused to answer saying that various industries and establishments can also register there, but the issue of unemployment allowance does not come under my jurisdiction.
