While saying that Ganeshotsav and Dahihandi festival will be celebrated without restrictions, the new government has decided to exempt Ganesh mandals from the registration fee and there is no restriction on the height of Ganesha idols, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has made a big announcement.

An important meeting was held today between Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and senior officers of the police force in connection with the upcoming Ganeshotsav and Dahi Handi festival. After this meeting, Shinde-Fadnavis informed the media about the decision taken with reference to festivals.

Mandapam permits have been liberalized. A one window scheme and online system has been implemented so that Ganesh Mandal office bearers do not suffer. Also, the police have been told that the boards should not have to pay the registration fee, nor should they take the guarantee. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the height limit of Ganesha idol has been removed and also the arrangement of lamps and places to make idols should be made available at Visarjan ghats. Also, the Chief Minister also said that the government will allow the arrival and immersion procession of Ganesh idol in a bang.

This year Dahihandi, Ganeshotsav and Moharram should be celebrated with enthusiasm keeping in mind the enthusiasm and limitations of all circles. We celebrate festivals for social awareness and unity. But law and order should be maintained while celebrating festivals. Necessary instructions have been given to the police administration today to ensure smooth conduct of Ganeshotsav and other festivals, arrangement of arrival-discharge route, instructions for immediate repair of systems, no inconvenience to anyone. The Chief Minister said that the government hopes that the festival should be celebrated after following the rules.
