Eknath Shinde has assets worth crores

Mumbai: BJP has once again dealt a major blow to Maharashtra politics. Devendra Fadnavis announced his decision to support Eknath Shinde when he thought that after the mutiny in Shiv Sena, BJP will be the power and Chief Minister in the state. After a rickshaw puller, a staunch Shiv Sainik, a corporator, an MLA and a minister, Shinde will now be the Chief Minister of the state.

Shinde was born in 1964 in Jawali taluka of Satara district. He was educated till the age of eleven and started as a rickshaw puller. While a rickshaw puller, he joined the Shiv Sena in the 80’s and his political journey started from there. In 1997, he was elected as a corporator in Thane Municipal Corporation. In 2001, he was the Leader of the Opposition. After becoming a corporator for the second time in 2002, he served as a member of the Standing Committee for 3 years. He has been elected MLA four times from Kopari-Pachpakhadi constituency in Thane. In Uddhav Thackeray’s cabinet, Shinde had an urban development department.

Eknath Shinde, who started as a rickshaw puller, has now reached the post of Chief Minister. In the affidavit he filed in the last assembly elections, Shinde has assets worth over Rs 11.56 crore. Of this, Rs 9.45 crore is fixed assets and Rs 2.10 crore is unstable assets. Since Shinde started his journey as an ordinary Shiv Sainik, he has started many agitations for the party. He even went to jail for the army. 18 cases have been registered against him. In the affidavit, Shinde has said that his business is construction business. Shinde owns seven vehicles with a total value of Rs 46 lakh.
