Mete’s driver overtook
The Deputy Chief Minister informed the Legislative Assembly about what exactly went wrong during the accident of Mete. Fadnavis said that there was an attempt to overtake by the driver of the Mete. Deputy Chief Minister said that the doctor said that he died on the spot in this accident. After the accident, Mete’s driver called 112 number. As the driver told the location, the phone number 112 went to the Navi Mumbai Police. Immediate action was taken by the Navi Mumbai Police. But after tracking the phone made by the driver, the police did not get the correct location.
The location is wrong
The driver of Mete (Vinayak Mete Accident) gave the wrong location after the accident. It is not known if he was scared. But he did not give correct information about the accident site. The driver said that he was near the tunnel. But when the Navi Mumbai police reached there, there was no one. The police also looked at the other side of the tunnel, but there was no one there either. So Navi Mumbai Police informed Raigad Police. When the Raigad police reached, the car was far from the tunnel.
The police did not get the location
Fadnavis said that Mete’s driver overtook. Raigad Police was alerted as the Navi Mumbai Police did not get the location. Raigad police also reached, but they also did not get the location of the accident immediately. After some time IRB ambulance along with Raigad police reached the spot in just 7 minutes, after which further relief work started. But whether he died on the road or on the spot, it will be clear only after the post-mortem report is received, said the Deputy Chief Minister.

Fadnavis said that if the location had been found directly, the call would have gone directly to Raigad and help would have been received sooner. Arrangements will be made to get information based on digital location. There is currently no control over trailers leaving the lane, ITMS i.e. Intelligent Traffic Management System will be implemented on the Mumbai-Pune highway. The entire road can be tracked through this system.
The help took time as the location was not available
Using satellites and drones, we can monitor trailers that leave such lanes. Due to lack of location, help took time after the accident. So it is necessary to get the location right. Based on the location, the police can be reached quickly. Also avoid traveling between 3 am to 6 am. During such time, the driver may get blinded. This creates the possibility of an accident. So it is important for everyone to avoid traveling at night as much as possible.
