Mumbai: Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took a big decision and decided to change the group leader. Shiv Sena has taken major action after Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde revolted. Shiv Sena took a big decision after the meeting held at the official residence of the Chief Minister. Shiv Sena has removed Eknath Shinde from the post of Shiv Sena Legislative Group Leader. In his place, MLA Ajay Chaudhari has been appointed as the group leader. Although Uddhav Thackeray has taken this big decision, it has the imprint of NCP’s decision.

This is considered a big blow for Eknath Shinde and the Shinde supporters group. Newly appointed Ajay Chaudhary is an MLA from Shivdi constituency in Mumbai. Uddhav Thackeray’s hasty decision to change the Shiv Sena’s legislature group leader has given the Sena great success in averting a possible threat.

The Mahavikas Aghadi government was in its infancy. All the talks between Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress were completed. It was decided that the government would be formed the next day. At the same time, Ajit Pawar administered the oath of office along with Devendra Fadnavis. It was a shock for the whole of Maharashtra at that time. The NCP had selected Ajit Pawar as its group leader. However, it was not registered with the Legislative Office. Therefore, Sharad Pawar immediately removed Ajit Pawar from the post of NCP group leader. Jayant Patil was selected as the group leader and registered with the Legislative Office.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s change of Shiv Sena’s group leader has come as a shock to Eknath Shinde’s group. Because, Eknath Shinde will no longer be able to hand over the letter of support of MLAs to the Legislative Office to the Governor’s Office with his signature. It remains to be seen whether Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will be able to quell the revolt of Eknath Shinde by changing the group leader.
