Mumbai: There is big news in the political earthquake. ED has issued summons to Sanjay Raut. The ED has issued summons to Sanjay Raut in the land scam case. He will have to face ED inquiry tomorrow (June 28). The notice has been issued to Raut in the Patrachal Redevelopment Project alleged land scam case. Shiv Sena is already arguing against Shinde group. This has stirred the political atmosphere in Maharashtra. The Mahavikas Aghadi government is likely to be in the minority. While this is happening, Sanjay Raut is said to have suffered a major blow from ED.
What is a correspondence scam?
In 2006, Guru Ashish Builder undertook the Patrachal Redevelopment Project under a joint venture. The project started in 2008. However, even after ten years, it was noticed that the correspondence was not redeveloped. The builder was also known to have whitewashed MHADA houses, leaving the original 678 residents in the wind. The builder had defrauded MHADA of Rs 1,034 crore. The builder is accused of selling the sales area to seven third-party developers. Rakesh Wadhwan is the director of Ashish Construction Company. Praveen Raut, who is close to Sanjay Raut, is related to Wadhwan. It is suspected that Praveen Raut along with Rakesh Wadhwan scammed the Patrachali redevelopment project. Praveen Raut was arrested and released in this case. Praveen Raut was arrested again on February 2, 2022.
Raut to Raut connection
Rs 55 lakh had gone from Praveen Raut’s account to Sanjay Raut’s wife’s account. But, this money was returned after 10 years. Sanjay Raut’s wife had claimed that the money was taken as a loan. However, the ED suspected that Sanjay Raut was also involved in the scam. Therefore, the ED had raided the family of Sanjay Raut. The ED today seized the property of Sanjay Raut in connection with the same scam. The ED suspects that Sanjay Raut used the money in the correspondence scam.
