Mumbai: A shocking case of raping a young woman for four consecutive years by pretending to have divine power in his body has come to light from Versova area. A 56-year-old man working in a reputed IT company, after the first rape by giving gungi medicine in prasad, sometimes by threatening and sometimes fearing the anger of the goddess. He did the deed. The Versova police have registered a case and his smile has turned.
Suresh Kumar, who lives in Mhada Colony area of Andheri, is employed in a famous IT company. He became close to a family by pretending to have divine powers in his body. In October, 2019, the girl of this family was invited to her home and fed her Prasad. She was raped by giving gungi medicine from Prasada and filmed on a mobile phone. The girl was a minor at that time. He then blackmailed the girl on the basis of filming in the mobile phone and took her to her residence in Andheri and Kurla and started sexually assaulting her. When the girl refused, Suresh Kumar feared that the family would be angry with the goddess if he did not send her, and said that it was necessary for her to perform pooja.
On the pretext of divine power, Suresh Kumar was oppressing for the last four years. Tired of that, the girl told this story at home. She also took the initiative to complain about this. The family also filed a complaint against Suresh Kumar at the Versova police station. Based on their complaint, the Versova police registered a case against Suresh Kumar for rape, intimidation and under the POCSO Act. Suresh Kumar has been detained by the police and further investigation is underway, police said.
