CIRO survey conducted in six districts: Corona infection is very low in the general population of the state.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) last month conducted a community-based CIRO survey in 83 districts across the country. It included Ahmednagar, Beed, Jalgaon, Parbhani, Nanded and Sangli districts of Maharashtra. In six districts of the state, the number of positive patients has been found to be 1.13. The survey found that the corona infection rate is very low in the general population of the state and the lockdown strategy has been successful.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the majority of the population in the state should focus on corona immunity, corona prevention and control, physical distance, hand hygiene, respiratory tract hygiene, frequent touch surface hygiene and effective survey and rigorous containment policy. Said.

The survey was conducted to find out the prevalence of corona in the general population of the state. In this district, the blood of a total of 400 people, 40 of each of the 10 randomly selected groups, was tested using the ELISA method developed by the National Institute of Virology. This has led to the detection of antibodies in the blood plasma of these individuals. Technical assistance was provided by National Disease Control Center, New Delhi, National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Chennai and National Tuberculosis Research Center, Chennai.

Sangli- (Total samples taken: 400, out of which positive samples: 5, Positive ratio: 1.25)

Ahmednagar- (Total samples taken: 404, out of which positive samples: 5, positive ratio: 1.23)

Jalgaon- (Total samples taken: 396, out of which positive samples: 2, positive ratio: 0.5)
