New Year to Bring Faster Growth and Beautification to the State

Pune & Mumbai: In 2025, a total of ₹11.17 lakh crore worth of projects will begin across the state. These projects include the Sindhi Multi-Model Project, five major infrastructure projects in Mumbai, the Pune Metro, and the Ring Road project. These initiatives will enhance financial growth, improve infrastructure, and elevate the quality of life across the state.

Sindhi Multi-Model Project
The Sindhi Multi-Model Logistics project will commence in the city of Wardha in Vidarbha. This project will provide a significant boost to the country’s logistics and transportation sector.

Five Major Projects in Mumbai
Mumbai will see the initiation of five major infrastructure projects in 2025:

• New Vashi Creek Bridge
• New Navi Mumbai International Airport: Expected to begin work in May 2025, this airport will serve as the second international airport for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, handling around 55 million passengers annually.
• Mumbai Coastal Road: This 29.2 km long project will connect Kandivli to Marine Lines, significantly reducing travel time.
• Mumbai Trans-Harbour Sea Link: While it was inaugurated in January 2024, the sea bridge will further enhance connectivity between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in 2025.
• Third Mumbai – Karnala-Sai-Chirner New Town Survey: The survey for this new city project will begin in 2025, paving the way for a new urban center in Maharashtra.
• Kharghar-Turbhe Tunnel Link Road Project: This ₹2,000 crore project will improve connectivity in Navi Mumbai.

Projects Starting in Pune

• Pune Metro: The next phase of the Pune Metro project will begin in 2025, aiming to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the city.
• Property Records Digitization: The Maharashtra State Registration Department is digitizing 225,000 property records with a budget of ₹21 crore.
• Pune Ring Road: This 170 km long ring road is expected to be completed by 2026, with rapid work planned for 2025.
• Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj International Airport: This new airport in Pune is expected to become operational in the near future, with work commencing in 2025, though the exact date is yet to be confirmed.

These developments are set to transform the state’s infrastructure, ease commuting, and drive economic growth in the coming years.
